All Souls

There are different kind of souls, as different kind of beings. This series is a compilation of different kind of souls and its particularities. The sparrowhawk is the first of them. The kestrel is the new soul to joint us. And more recently, the baby mule, our sweet baby.

"Nada te turbe, nada te espante"

Nada te turbe, nada te espante, todo se pasa...

Santa Teresa de Avila

Some years ago I bought a small image of Saint Teresa of Avila. One of the attributes was an owl on her shoulder. The owl was the symbol of wisdom in the Greek mythology. Or the idea of God coming from the shadows. Or the hidden knowledge.
At that time, many things were not easy for women. I read this poem. I made two owls.
I was named after her.

A great news: I won the first price of the 2011 Annual Juried Art Exhibition of the Live Oak Art Center in Columbus, Tx. Those were the selected art works. Clint Willour was in the jury and I am very honored about the selection since all participants sent great and amazing art work. The only thing is I am in Santa Fe and it was not possible to be by the opening and get together with all the people who came to the opening and share a good afternoon.
