Embroidering the mantle of the earth

Embroidering the mantle of the Earth is an action based on a painting from Surrealist Spanish/Mexican painter Remedios Varo. In her painting, a group of women is represented working together sewing and embroidering a collective tapestry. this idea of participation of people, regardless of their gender, race, age, belonging, was the origin of this proposal. Some people were old and experienced, some kids who never held a needle, men, women, old and young.

Soror, soror

Two little sisters that hold together. One is weaker, the other, protects her. Beautifully sleeping and safe.

The last print of the year. Ficelle is a little string tied to a small swift. This print will be a part of the Hidden Room Portfolio, to be exhibited at the 2013 Southern Graphics Print Conference.
